Overview
Plastopex manufactures plastic cisterns for the storage and handling of various types of liquids, from drinking, technical and firefighting water, to wastewater, chemicals, fuel, food liquids and other purpose-specific media. The cisterns are made of HDPE and PPH materials using spiral winding technology, according to the required volume, dimensions, method of installation and conditions of use.
Plastic cisterns are horizontal tanks that can be above-ground or buried. They are used in households, weekend settlements, schools, kindergartens, hotels, agriculture, industry, hospitality, food production and technical systems. In practice they are often used as cisterns for drinking water, cisterns for irrigation, cisterns for firefighting water, cisterns for wastewater, as well as for various industrial and process purposes.
Thanks to their resistance to corrosion, smooth interior walls and good chemical stability, HDPE and PPH cisterns represent a long-lasting alternative to traditional tanks. They are easier to transport and handle, do not require anti-corrosion protection and can be adapted to the specific medium, space and method of connection.
Plastopex also manufactures cisterns for special purposes, including thermally insulated cisterns and double-walled cisterns. Thermally insulated versions can help slow the exchange of heat between the medium and the environment, while double-walled cisterns are most often used for more demanding industrial and chemical applications, when an additional containment layer is needed for greater system safety.
Volumes from 500 l to 100,000 l are available, with the possibility of adapting the diameter, length, openings, connections, color, mounting position and additional equipment. The exact choice of material, construction and equipment depends on the type of liquid, the installation location, the mode of use and the technical requirements of the project.

When might a plastic cistern not be the ideal choice?
- If an aggressive chemical, high temperature or specific industrial medium is stored, the compatibility of the HDPE/PPH material needs to be checked.
- If a pressurized cistern is needed, a standard plastic cistern is not a substitute for a dedicated pressure vessel.
- If the cistern is buried, it is necessary to check whether the configuration is designed for burial, the soil cover and external loads.
- If the location has a high groundwater level, a check of the anchoring, buoyancy protection and installation conditions is required.
- If the cistern is placed beneath a traffic surface, parking lot or loaded zone, the load-distribution slab and the technical conditions need to be checked.
- If the cistern is intended for drinking water, food liquids or a regulated industrial application, all requirements and documentation need to be checked.
- If the user does not know the type of liquid, the volume, the installation, filling and emptying method, a consultation with the Plastopex team is recommended first.
What to prepare before sending an inquiry?
- State the intended use of the cistern: drinking water, technical water, rainwater, irrigation, chemicals, fuel, food liquid, wastewater or another medium.
- Prepare the required volume, for example 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, 20000, 50000 or 100000 liters.
- State whether you need a horizontal above-ground, buried, insulated, double-wall or special custom configuration.
- Prepare the approximate dimensions of the space or excavation, including length, width, height, access and base.
- State the filling and emptying method: manual, by pump, by gravity, via a pipeline, by truck or by process.
- State the required connections, openings, covers, valves, vents, overflows, drains, measuring elements or additional equipment.
- If a chemical, fuel or specific medium is stored, send the technical data sheet, temperature, concentration and storage conditions.
- Describe the site conditions: above-ground or underground placement, groundwater, sun, frost, traffic load and access for transport.
- Send site photos, a sketch, space measurements, an existing project or a technical drawing if available.
- State whether you need only the manufacture of the cistern or also help with configuration, transport, assembly and connection.
