Overview
Plastopex manufactures plastic vats for the storage and fermentation of fruit, vegetables, water and other materials. The vats are suitable for brandy, plum, grapes, wine, pomace, cabbage, water, granular materials, animal feed and various seasonal or technical uses.
Plastic vats are made of high-quality polyethylene and polypropylene, in volumes from 250 l to 5000 l, with the possibility of manufacture in larger dimensions as needed. As standard they are produced in black, and by agreement they can be made in other colors as well, depending on the customer’s requirements and production capabilities.
For the fermentation of fruit, grapes, mash, pomace and cabbage, and for the storage of wine, vats with a water seal can be made. Such vats have an additional ring at the top into which water or paraffin oil is poured, while a suitable lid helps reduce the contact of the contents with the air, prevents the spread of odors and protects the contents from insects and external impurities.
The construction of the vat consists of a flat bottom and a cylindrical shell, and if needed a conical lid can be added to protect against atmospheric precipitation, dust and impurities. The vats can be fitted with taps, handles and other connections for easier use, emptying, transport and handling.
Due to their low weight, simple maintenance and resistance to moisture, UV radiation and chemical influences, plastic vats are a practical solution for households, agricultural holdings, fruit growers, winemakers, brandy producers and users who need reliable storage or fermentation. For proper use, it is recommended to place the vat on a flat, stable and prepared surface.

When might a plastic vat not be the ideal choice?
- If a material that is not compatible with HDPE/PP plastic is stored, chemical resistance must be checked first.
- If the contents are at a very high temperature or require special technological conditions, additional technical consultation is needed.
- If a closed pressurized system is required, a plastic vat is not a substitute for a dedicated tank or process vessel.
- If the vat is used for food or commercial production, all requirements for hygiene, equipment and maintenance methods must be checked.
- If the user has not defined the volume, space, type of material and method of emptying, consultation with the Plastopex team is recommended first.
- If installation into a system with pumps, pipes or automation is required, the connections and equipment should be defined before manufacturing.
What to prepare before sending an inquiry?
- State the intended use of the vat: rakija, plum, grapes, pomace, wine, cabbage, water, vegetables, bulk material or other use.
- Prepare the required volume, for example 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 or 5000 liters.
- State the approximate diameter and height if you have limited space for installation.
- Describe where the vat will stand: basement, yard, production area, orchard, farm or other space.
- State whether you need a lid, conical lid, water seal, tap, drain, handles or additional connections.
- If the vat is used for fermentation, state the material being fermented and the approximate quantity per season.
